The most common models that you can find on the market are the SMD.
Its construction is based on a set of diodes (chip) on a printed circuit board, encapsulated in semi-rigid resin.
The size of the chips is small and they can have more than two contacts and include a blue, green and red diode on one chip to create color combinations. This, on the other hand, could not be done with the classic DIP LEDs.
The beam of light they emit is bright and a single watt gives between 60 and 70 lumens, so they are less efficient compared to COB LED or Microled models that give almost twice as much per W.
