What is Title 24?

The Title 24 California Building Standards Code is a comprehensive set of guidelines for "energy saving, green design, construction and maintenance fire and life safety and accessibility" that apply to a building's "electrical, mechanical, structural, and plumbing systems". The California Building Standards Commission published it, and it is applicable to all structures in California, not just those owned by the state.

Your illumination is affected, right? YES. A collection of regulations called Title 24 should have a significant and wide-ranging impact on the lighting and lighting controls utilized in a certain area or structure. As a result, it is applicable if you are replacing, altering, moving, or reconnecting at least 40 light fixtures in a room and you are applying for a permit for your project. Routine maintenance, however, does not result in Title 24 compliance. Lighting control regulations typically apply to areas larger than 100 square feet that use more than 0.5 watts of lights per square foot. Depending on the type of fixture, lighting controls must be installed in every applicable location.
