Application
1. Brooding Stage: To replicate natural sunshine, a chicken's lighting throughout this phase of life should be maintained at a consistent level for roughly twenty-four hours a day. The distance between the light fixtures and the ground should be between 18 and 24 inches.
2. Growing Stage: During this phase, illumination should be gradually cut back from 24 to 15 hours each day. It is advised to keep light intensity between 10 and 15 lux to prevent stress in the birds and aid in feather development.
3. Production Stage: For around 14–16 hours every day, the illumination should be kept at a light level of 15-20 lux. For chickens that lay eggs, this is a critical time, and light is critical for controlling egg production.
