How do I choose the best retrofit trunking module?
One-to-one unique trunking retrofits and universal Clickfast trunking retrofits are the two different trunking retrofit modules available on the market. Since most customers are unsure which one is best for them, I'll list the benefits and drawbacks of each so you can make an informed decision.
1) Individual retrofits and one-to-one replacement
The existing linear light fixture (T8/T5 fluorescent tube or LED module) should be replaced with LED modules whose size and construction exactly match the original trunk. You should also utilise the same connection terminal to get input electric power from the original trunk.
Advantages include affordability, exact compatibility with the original trunk, and quick installation;
Having so many distinct European trunk brands with unique dimensions and structures makes it difficult to produce regular supply. Researching the most popular older linear trunking systems on the local market is important so that stock may be made properly.
2) Universal Clickfast replacement retrofits
Only keep the original trunk; take off all the cables, sockets, and connections, and stop using the old trunk to provide power. Main cables and connections are included on the universal retrofit for connecting.
There is just one LED linear module, making regular stock, connecting devices, and replacing them requires less effort.
The cost of a single LED module is somewhat greater; also, as the universal retrofit LED module is sometimes shorter than the original linear light source, a plain cover is generally required.
