How to judge whether LED lamps are qualified

How to choose the products that you are satisfied with from the dazzling array of lighting? Then how to judge whether the lamp is qualified? Let's take a look now!

The brightness of led is measured by luminous intensity. The luminous intensity refers to the luminous intensity in the direction of the normal line (for cylindrical luminous tube, its axis), that is, the luminous flux emitted per unit solid angle, and the unit is candlelight. Because the luminous intensity of general leds is small, the luminous intensity is usually used as the unit of millicandela (mcd). Generally speaking, a light source emits its luminous flux with different intensities in different directions. The intensity of visible light emitted per unit solid angle in a specific direction is called light intensity, or axial brightness for short.

Benwei lighting expects LED life to reach 50,000 hours MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure, the standard used by traditional lamp manufacturers to measure the life of light sources). However, like all basic light sources, the luminous flux of LEDs also decays over time. Therefore, although the LED light-emitting time can be very long, MTBF is not a consideration for determining the service life. The attenuation of led lumens is affected by many environmental conditions such as ambient temperature, humidity and ventilation. Lumen decay is also affected by control, thermal management, current levels, and many other electrical design considerations.

LED's light-emitting angle is divided into effective angle and actual light-emitting angle. The angle between the direction where the luminous intensity value is half of the axial intensity value and the luminous axis (normal) is the effective angle. The viewing angle (or half-power angle) twice the half-value angle is the actual light-emitting angle. Angles other than half of the axial intensity are not included in the effective angle in practical applications because the light is too weak.

LED lights are a bit heavier than traditional lights, so you should check whether the existing lights can support the weight of the led lights. And since these lamps are longer, maybe the lampshade you are using now can't cover them. However, keep in mind that the led light cannot be completely enclosed in the lamp, because the heat will shorten the life of the light. If you want to use led lights outdoors, then the lights should be weatherproof or able to withstand wet outdoor conditions.
