There are two factors that determine the role of street lighting: average illuminance and uniformity.
1. Average illuminance. Many customers take a light meter to measure under the light, and the larger the value, the better the brightness. This is very one-sided. The lighting effect of the street lamp is that the whole road is illuminated very brightly, not the place under the vertical street lamp is very bright, and the two ends of the lamp are not bright, showing different degrees of dark areas. This effect of changing light and darkness will increase the driver's driving risk. Due to the sudden transition of the eyes from a bright place to a dark place, a short-term visual blind spot is caused, and it is not easy to see the dark area in a short time, thus causing an accident . In addition, long-term driving on the road is very easy to get drowsy. Therefore, the road brightness reference value must be the average illuminance.
So how do you measure the average illuminance? You can measure the average illuminance of a lamp simply by following the nine-point measurement method shown below. In the half area covered by a lamp, measure the nine points in the figure below, add them and divide by 9, the average value is the average illuminance.
2. Consistency. Uniformity considers the uniformity of light hitting the road surface. A road with good lighting effect is paved evenly and will not flicker.
