How To Make A Battery Operated Light Bulb

Wouldn't it be amazing if a light bulb could be made to turn on without being inserted into a socket? It appears that there are multiple ways to power a light bulb. I've discovered a technique to use a battery to power any common light bulb if you're up for a quick, enjoyable experiment!

This is what you require:

D battery, one
(With Screw-in Base) A light bulb
Insulated wire electrical tape in two pieces.

Take these actions:

1. Cut the insulation from the ends of the two wires, about 3/4" thick.

2. Tape one wire's end to the battery's negative terminal. Attach the wire's other end with tape to the stem of the lightbulb.

3. Tape one end of the additional wire to the battery's positive terminal. Attach the wire's other end with tape to the bulb's stem's base.

4. See the lightbulb turn on!

The procedure is straightforward: Electrons leave the battery's negative end, flow into the wire, pass through the lightbulb, and then return to the battery's positive side. That's it. You now possess a battery-powered lightbulb.

Reminder: Be careful handling the exposed wires. They have a slight electric charge when connected to power, which you should usually avoid. Additionally, stay away from touching the on light bulb, especially if it's an incandescent. Things heat up very quickly!
