The reasons for the failure of the three-proof light

The reasons for the failure of the three-proof light

three-proof lamp

Benwei Smart LED Tri-Proof Lights are the same as those of others, with the passage of time, various functional mechanisms continue to decline, and finally to decline. No matter what the light source is, it can't prevent it, and this is the problem of light decay.

Reasons for light decay:

There are still many controversies about the cause of light decay, and the microscopic mechanism that causes the recession is still inconclusive, but generally speaking, the light decay of LEDs is mainly caused by heat dissipation.

It is well known that LEDs are afraid of heat. The ideal operating temperature of LEDs is between -5 and 0°, but this is fundamentally impossible. Heat will affect the light decay and lifespan of LED lamps. About 80% of the electrical energy is converted into heat energy, and 20% of the electrical energy is converted into light energy. The LED radiator is used to dissipate heat for the LED. Since the LED chip is in operation, its own ambient temperature is inversely proportional to the light output rate. , The higher the temperature, the lower the light output rate. When the temperature reaches the maximum operating temperature of the LED chip, the lamp will be broken.

In addition, the thermal resistance of the LED chip itself, the influence of silver glue, the heat dissipation effect of the substrate, and the colloid and gold wires are also related to light decay.

How to solve the light failure of lamps?

In fact, strictly speaking, LED lamps cannot prevent light decay. It is a technical problem that the industry is concerned about urgently to solve. However, as long as we understand the heat dissipation method of lamps, we can reduce the problem of light decay to a certain extent.

First of all, what is junction temperature?

The junction temperature is the operating temperature of the PN junction of the semiconductor chip (wafer, bare chip), and the higher the junction temperature, the earlier the light decay occurs. Assuming that the junction temperature is 105 degrees, the lifespan is only more than 10,000 hours when the brightness is reduced to 70%, and 20,000 hours at 95 degrees, and 50,000 hours when the junction temperature drops to 75 degrees. Extends to 90,000 hours. Therefore, the key to extending the life is to reduce the junction temperature, and the key to reducing the junction temperature is to have a good heat sink, so how to systematically distinguish the heat dissipation of LED lamps?

Generally, the junction temperature of LEDs increases, and the luminous flux decreases. Then, as long as we measure the change of the illuminance of the lamp in the same position, we can infer the change of the junction temperature. The specific method is:

1. Choose a place that is not disturbed by external light, preferably at night, and turn off other lights;

2. Turn on the light in a cold state, measure the illuminance of a position immediately, and record the current reading as "cold illuminance";

3. Keep the orientation of lamps and illuminometers unchanged, and keep lamps and lanterns in operation;

4. After half an hour, read the illuminance value here, and write down the reading as "thermal illuminance";

5. If the two values are similar (10~15%), the heat dissipation system of this lamp is basically good;

6. If the two values are far apart (greater than 20%), the heat dissipation system of the lamp is questionable.

In addition, we can't just judge the quality of the radiator as the original, we have to choose the most cost-effective, not the best for everything, so the editor's summary is:

1. It is definitely not good to touch the radiator very hot, and it is not necessarily good that the radiator is not hot;

2. In the case of reasonable planning, equal weight and large surface area are good for heat dissipation;

3. Equal raw materials, equal surface area, the heavier the weight, the better the heat dissipation.

4. The fins of the fin radiator are not as many as possible, and the denser the better.

Light decay is an unavoidable problem in the operation of lamps. When purchasing lamps, you must choose lamps with better quality and heat dissipation. In the process of using, if you want to delay the speed of light decay and extend the life of lamps, you should try to reduce lamps and lanterns. work load.
