The LED Industry is Always Growing

In the last ten years or so, LED lighting has advanced and expanded enormously, revolutionising the lighting business. By 2030 or before, predictions indicate that LEDs will account for 85% of the lighting market. They are the most energy-efficient light source, and their dominance is justified given their durability, diversity, and excellent user integration. For the sake of meeting consumer needs and adapting to practical applications, LED technology is continually evolving. Making LED lights that are capable of "Warm Dimming" is one innovative technique that many manufacturers are attaining this goal.

What is Warm Dim Technology, exactly?

The so-called "Warm Dimming" effect has nothing to do with the bulb's actual heat or physical warmth. Instead, it is when the colour temperature of an LED bulb decreases when it is dimmed. In other words, the colour appears "warmer" or more orange-like the lower the brightness. This is a more "natural" replication since the sky seems more "warm" in colour at sunset, which shifts our focus and aids in the transition from day to night. This effect was naturally present in many incandescent and halogen lamps, despite their extreme inefficiency. These new design LEDs give a pleasing "warmer" glow even when they are dimmed, while yet maintaining their high effectiveness.

The warmer the colour, the lower the brightness.

The range of how much an LED dims varies depending on the product and manufacturer, however it typically falls between 3,000k and 1,900k. The spectrum of colour temperature and what qualifies as "warm" or "cool" are depicted in the image below.
