Why are electric vehicle batteries not durable? How should I charge it correctly?

I can often hear complaints from electric car owners. Some people say that the new national standard electric car is too slow, some people say that the pedal function is unreasonable, and many people feel that the current battery is not durable. With the development of current industrial technology , Electric vehicles and battery technology are becoming more and more mature, so why are the batteries of electric vehicles not durable?

1. The electric vehicle charger is connected incorrectly

Many car owners do not know whether to connect the power supply or the battery first when charging electric vehicles, which affects the battery life. If the car owner’s charger is on-off, you need to plug in the power supply first, so that there is current inside the charger, and then plug it in. The battery end can ensure the stability of charging. If it is not a switch-type charger, you need to plug in the battery end and plug in the power supply.

2. Use fast charging stations for electric vehicles

As we all know, electric vehicles can be charged for at least 6 hours. This is also one of the biggest weaknesses of batteries. However, there are many emergency fast charging stations on the streets. They mainly use high voltage to quickly charge electric vehicles, although they are charging The time can be much faster, but most charging stations do not have the function of identifying the battery voltage due to cost reasons. For example, 48V batteries, in order to achieve fast charging, belong to the 72V voltage, which can easily cause the battery to be damaged.

3. The charging time of electric vehicles is too long

Although it takes a long time for an electric vehicle to be fully charged, it also has certain restrictions. Basically, the common electric vehicle battery will not be charged for more than 8 hours. Basically, it can be fully charged in about 6 hours. In winter, the floating charging time can be appropriately increased, but many car owners have developed a habit of plugging in the electric car when they get home from work, charging it overnight.

There are two drawbacks. The first is that if the charging time is too long, the battery will continue to heat up and cause the battery to lose water, causing swelling and battery performance. The second is that the electric bike is charged immediately after riding. It is also a behavior that is very harmful to the battery. The battery will emit heat during use, and the electric vehicle will also emit heat when charging, which will cause problems such as water loss.

4. Hybrid charger for electric vehicles

As the mainstream means of transportation, electric vehicles are very popular in our country. Many families have more than one electric vehicle, and each electric vehicle will have an original charger. Some car owners are accustomed to using mobile phone chargers. It can be charged and plugged in. In fact, this charging method is very harmful to the battery. Due to the inconsistency of the battery voltage, such as a 60V charger for a 48V electric vehicle, it is easy to cause the battery to be damaged under high voltage, and long-term use of high voltage charging There is also a risk of spontaneous combustion.

To sum up, in fact, the quality of the current battery has not declined, and the battery is not durable because the cost of electric vehicles and batteries are relatively low now, and everyone does not care about it at all. And there is such a saying in the electric vehicle maintenance industry. "Three points depend on quality, and seven points depend on maintenance." After all, the quality of the batteries currently purchased is not much different, and how long it can be used has a lot to do with whether the car owner will maintain it.
