1.Can this bulb be used as a plug-and-play replacement for a fluorescent tube on the kitchen countertop? Or does it call for a ballast bypass or new wiring?

The fluorescent tube(s) must be detached from the ballast. I just severed the cords. Connecting the LED bulb just needs a little alteration to the wiring. The illumination is fantastic!

2.Do we need a low voltage transformer for this?

This tube runs on 12 volts DC, so you may connect it directly to a battery or via a converter to convert 110 or 220 volts AC to 12 volts DC.

3.How big should the fuses be if all four are connected?

Ray is on point. You need a 5 A fuse. Just to explain why: The two-pack lights use 8 watts each light at 12 volts, while the four-pack lights use 5 watts each.That is 20 watts at 12 volts, or 1.7 amps, if you get the four-pack. 16 Watts at 12 Volts or 1.33 Amps if you get the two-pack. You need between 5 and 7.5 amps for that load.
