Guangdong LED industry output value maintained rapid growth for 4 consecutive years
Since 2010, the output value of Guangdong's LED industry has maintained rapid growth for four consecutive years. In 2013, it reached 281 billion yuan, a 7-fold increase from 39 billion yuan in 2009, and ranked first in the province's eight strategic emerging industries in terms of growth rate.
At present, there are more than 4,000 LED companies in Guangdong Province, driving nearly 3 million related jobs. LED industry clusters with Shenzhen as the leader and Zhongshan, Huizhou, Foshan, Jiangmen and Dongguan as the Pearl River Delta industrial belt have been established, forming The entire industry chain from substrate materials, epitaxial wafers, chips, packaging to applications. Among them, there are 25 listed LED companies, accounting for 60% of the total number of listed LED companies in the country, with a total market value of nearly 100 billion yuan.
As of the end of 2013, Guangdong Province has had nearly 50,000 patent applications in related fields of LED industry, accounting for about 30% of the national LED patent applications. In recent years, a number of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights have achieved significant results. For example, Zhongke Hongwei and Zhaoxin Group have successively developed domestic MOCVD prototypes, new high-efficiency high-power LED chips based on zinc oxide epitaxial transparent electrode structure, and gallium nitride homoepitaxial technology have filled the industry gap.
Since 2010, the LED industry in Guangdong Province has achieved rapid growth, and has shown the characteristics of increasing industrial scale, obvious advantages of industrial clusters, breakthroughs in core technologies, gradual formation of a standardized system, and remarkable results in popularization and application. After the Guangdong Provincial Government issued the "Implementation Plan for the Promotion and Application of LED Lighting Products in Guangdong Province" in 2012, all regions and cities across the province took active actions to comprehensively promote the application of LED lighting products. According to statistics, in 2013, the province had a total of 1,321 tenders for a total of 3.42 million. Up to now, 9 cities in the Pearl River Delta have basically completed the task of street lamp renovation. Among them, Shenzhen is at the forefront of the promotion and application of LED lighting products in the province, and has completed more than 90% of the renovation tasks.
