Guangdong Province has become a leader in the LED industry
As a major LED province, Guangdong Province has made a good start in the development of the LED industry and standard formulation.
On March 12, 2012, the Guangdong Provincial Government website announced the full text of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries in Guangdong Province". The plan shows that Guangdong will invest 11.6 billion to support 13 LED projects. From the perspective of the government, this is a lot of support.
Guangdong Province is a large LED province, and the LED industry accounts for 60% of the national share. The Guangdong Provincial Government has always paid more attention to the development of the LED industry. During the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, under the unified deployment and promotion of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, a large number of semiconductor lighting application demonstration projects have been done in the province, and relatively rich industrial practical experience has also been accumulated in the process. In the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", semiconductor lighting has been regarded as a strategic emerging industry in Guangdong Province.
In August 2011, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology took the lead in organizing 21 scientific research institutions and leading enterprises to jointly establish the "Guangdong Province Semiconductor Industry Lighting Industry Joint Innovation Center". With the center as a link, upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain or technologically complementary enterprises, relevant universities and scientific research institutions have jointly conquered a number of key LED technologies.
At present, Guangdong Province has launched the research and implementation of the "LED Lighting Standard Optical Components" project, is beginning to establish the relevant knowledge and standards of the provincial LED indoor lighting product benchmarking system, and has begun to accept related product testing.
In addition, Guangdong has spared no effort in the promotion of LED products. It has established a joint meeting system across the province. Related departments jointly organized and implemented the "Demonstration and Promotion Project for Industrialization of Thousands of Miles High-power LED Street Lamps and Special Actions for Green Lighting Demonstration Cities". LEDs were installed throughout the province. There are more than 260,000 street lights and more than 2,500 kilometers of demonstration roads. The scale and progress are among the top in the country.
Research on the "standardization" of LED products is the need for industrial development and strategic research. Make full use of the platform of the Provincial Semiconductor Lighting Industry Joint Innovation Center, convene leading enterprises in the province, gather high-quality resources from the country and the world, and collect, organize, research, develop and formulate the current economically applicable and forward-looking Guangdong as soon as possible The provincial semiconductor lighting industry standard optical components guide the LED lighting industry to develop towards standardization, serialization, and standardization, and enhance the overall competitiveness of the Guangdong LED lighting industry, which is of very important and far-reaching significance.
The expected results of the project include standard optical component products, related technology patents, product technology and testing standards, product coding principles, product development roadmaps and technology development roadmaps, etc. These achievements will be exhibited at the 2012 Shenzhen International LED Exhibition on June 28 this year. The exhibitors include National Star Optoelectronics, Foshan Lighting, Dehao Runda, TCl, Lehman Optoelectronics, Unilumin Technology, Ai Sokkia Industrial, Chuangwei Optoelectronics, Moso Power, etc.
The construction of the "Standard Optical Components" project of the Guangdong Semiconductor Lighting Industry Joint Innovation Center will involve 100 domestic LED companies. The project will study the morphological structure, functional characteristics, standard interfaces, usage specifications, testing methods and related technical standards and patents of optical components at various levels. Sui Shirong said that as these standards gradually mature, they are likely to become national standards in the future.
No matter how the market changes, the LED lighting industry will inevitably become the mainstream in the future. The big waves are scouring the sand, and the "leftovers" are king. Those companies that blindly follow the trend want to get a share of the LED lighting industry. Without their own patented technology, the future situation will be very difficult.
