How to create eye-protecting classroom lighting to make the classroom "light up"


With the high myopia rate in our country, the attention of all walks of life and government departments to classroom lighting has effectively increased in recent years. As a classroom lighting environment directly related to myopia, creating eye-protecting classroom lighting is an important measure for myopia prevention and control.


According to surveys, our country’s primary and secondary school students spend approximately 60% of their time in the classroom every day. In the experiment of the National Natural Science Foundation of China "Research on Healthy Lighting of Classrooms Based on Photobiological Effects", it is shown that the lighting of school classrooms directly affects students' learning efficiency and vision health.


Many school classrooms still use fluorescent tubes and ordinary lamps, and the layout of lamps is unreasonable, the illuminance is low, not up to standard, naked lights are used, the lights are dazzling, the lights are stroboscopic, the color rendering index is less than 80, and it is very dazzling. The State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration approved and issued the "Hygiene Requirements for the Lighting Design and Installation of General Classrooms in Primary and Secondary Schools" (GB/T36876-2018). The sanitary requirements for installation have been specified in detail:


1. Suspended grid lamps should be used, and the efficiency of the lamps should not be less than 60%.


2. The unified glare value (UGR) should not be greater than 19, and the calculation method of the unified glare value (UGR) shall be implemented in accordance with CIE117.


3. The color temperature should be 3300K~5500K, and the color rendering index should not be less than 80.


4. The classroom desktop maintains the average illuminance not less than 300lx, and the illuminance uniformity is not less than 0.7; the blackboard surface maintains the average illuminance not less than 500lx, and the illuminance uniformity is not less than 0.8.


5. Adopt the boom installation method and arrange it evenly in the longitudinal direction of the classroom (the long axis of the lamp is perpendicular to the blackboard). The lighting power density of the classroom should not be higher than 11W/㎡, and it should be lower than 9W/㎡ in areas where conditions permit. The vertical distance (g) between the lamp and the desk is not less than 1700mm.


6. When calculating the illuminance in lighting design, the maintenance factor should be 0.8.
