Make Your Own LED Light Bulb Tester From 9V Battery!

I always want to check that any LED lights I purchase online are functional before putting in the time and effort to install them. It would be so terrible to install LED lights only to discover they are inoperable, so I made a tester out of a 9V battery I had lying around to avoid that situation.

You only need the following, not even any specialised equipment or components:

A 9 volt battery

2. Electrical black tape

3. Two pieces of color-coded 18-22g wire

4. Wire cutters

This quick and easy DIY can prevent you from having to deal with headaches for hours in the future.

Stage 1:

Amass your resources in one place. Use only this 9V battery; never use a battery with a voltage greater than 12V as this could potentially harm the LED. The lights might not even turn on if you use a battery with a voltage lower than 9V.

Stage 2:

Hook the wires to the positive and negative terminals of the battery after removing some of the plastic sheathing from both ends of the wires. Ensure that the red and black wires are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the battery, respectively.

Stage 3:

Cover the positive and negative terminals by wrapping them with black electrical tape.

Stage 4:

You've just created your own LED tester. To determine whether side of an LED bulb is positive and whether it is malfunctioning, you can connect the red and black wires to it (NOTE: If an LED bulb does not light up the first time, please switch the two wires around and try again).
