Video conference room lighting modification scheme
Lighting renovation is not just as simple as energy saving
After the advent of LED lighting products, the energy-saving transformation of building space has the fastest effect, and it is not lighting.
Today we will take an actual case to talk about how to do lighting transformation.
There is such a video conference room. It turned out that 100 26W 6300K horizontally inserted energy-saving tube downlights were used as the main lighting. The truth of the scene is as follows, so how does it need to be transformed?
Figure: Conference room that needs to be retrofitted with lighting
I think most people will say, "This retrofit is so easy! With LEDs, you can save energy in minutes."
If the lighting transformation is just as simple as replacing traditional lamps with LED lamps, the data seems to save energy, then the big lighting design provider on WORLD must be a treasure. Unfortunately not.
From the perspective of technical wood implementation, the thinking of the lighting renovation project can be summed up in the following four points:
Understand the status quo: Fully understand the available conditions and adverse constraints on site.
Confirm the demand: understand the lighting demand determined by the function and characteristics of the building space, and understand the owner's demand for renovation.
Setting goals: According to needs and constraints, set reasonable transformation goals.
Propose solutions: analyze the problems that need to be solved from the status quo to the goal, and propose professional solutions.
From the pictures taken during the on-site inspection, it can be seen that there are several problems with the original lighting:
1. The color temperature is too high
2. Excessive glare
3. Poor color rendering
These problems can be a disaster for a conference room that often holds important meetings and requires live video and recording.
And the lighting transformation is to end these disasters and make it look like this:
How did such a conference room, which is so different from the one before the renovation, come about?
The designer of the renovation said that according to the use requirements of the conference room and the requirements of Party A, there are several key points to make it like this:
1-Energy saving: Through the transformation, the overall energy saving effect can be achieved while improving the quality of the light environment.
2-Guidance of the light: attract the attention of the participants to the rostrum through slightly higher illumination.
3-No glare: Eliminate the impatience and anxiety caused by the poor light environment of the participants, and make the camera needed for the video conference to shoot normally.
4-Uniform vertical space brightness: no dark area, which is conducive to camera shooting and avoids the adverse effects of mobile shooting caused by light and dark contrast.
5- Eliminate stroboscopic: Due to photography reasons, the lighting products used must meet the requirements of no stroboscopic.
6-Color temperature: The color temperature of the space is consistent, and the comfort is good.
7-Good color rendering performance: Improve the true color performance when shooting and avoid distortion.
why?
1. Glare
I understand the truth of glare. Generally, this situation is tolerated, but why do conference rooms with video shooting requirements have such deep requirements for glare?
Since glare has such a large impact on human vision and camera, it must be killed.
By choosing LED downlights with excellent anti-glare effect, the effect of "seeing the light but not the light" that designers and owners hope to see in architectural lighting is fully realized.

2. Color temperature
For a space that needs to hold meetings for a long time, too low a color temperature can easily cause people to be lazy and sleepy, while a too high color temperature will make people too nervous and cause discomfort in the overall environment of the space.
Picture: The adjustment of color temperature gives people different psychological feelings. High color temperature makes people nervous, and low color temperature makes people relax.
For spaces with video shooting requirements, the choice and consistency of color temperature is critical to determining white balance when shooting.
In response to this situation, the original 6300K was changed to a 4000K lighting product during the renovation, which reduced the psychological discomfort of the conference participants, and at the same time did not relax too much, so as to maintain a good concentration for a long time.
3. Uniform vertical space brightness
Why is uniform vertical space brightness required?
D one, is that the camera needs to have enough vertical illumination:
Why do conference rooms with video shooting requirements have sufficient vertical illumination? It is so that the camera can capture the facial expressions and body movements of the video conference participants.
Second, the adaptability of the camera is much worse than that of the human eye. The most important thing is to prevent the light from lighting fixtures or windows from directly shining on the camera lens, and to control the contrast through precise dimming.
Cameras set simple exposure levels over their full field of view - they cannot adapt to local differences in brightness like the human eye can.
For video conference rooms, it is very necessary to ensure that the camera is not exposed to direct light when in video conference mode.
4. Strobe
For video conference rooms, strobe is a point that cannot be ignored that affects the quality of shooting, but it is often overlooked.
5. Color rendering
When the color rendering is poor, the red clothes will be painted in sauce, the green clothes will be in black, and the face will be full of vegetables...
