What is the difference between explosion-proof lamps and non explosion-proof lamps

Explosion proof lamps are a class of lighting lamps with explosion-proof performance, with signs such as ex. The state has certain requirements for explosion-proof lamps, such as the sealing performance of explosion-proof lamps and the further protection measures in the structure. Non explosion-proof lamps do not have these requirements.

1. The explosion-proof category, grade and temperature group of explosion-proof lamps are specified in national standards.

2. According to the explosion-proof type, it can be divided into five main types: explosion-proof type, increased safety type, positive pressure type, non sparking type and dust explosion-proof type. Other explosion-proof types and the above explosion-proof types can also be combined or combined or special.

3. According to the type of electric shock protection, it can be divided into class I, class II and class III. Anti electric shock protection is to prevent the easily accessible parts of the explosion-proof lamp shell from being charged, so that the human body gets an electric shock or the conductors with different potentials touch to generate electric sparks and ignite the explosive mixture.

Class a I: on the basis of basic insulation, all easily accessible conductive parts that are not charged during normal operation are connected to the protective grounding conductor in the fixed line.

Class B II, double insulation or reinforced insulation is used as safety protection measures, without grounding protection.

Class C III: safety voltage with effective value not greater than 50V shall be used, and no higher voltage will be generated.

Class d0, only relying on basic insulation as safety protection measures.

Most of the explosion-proof lamps and lanterns are class I lamps and lanterns, and only a few are class II and class III lamps and lanterns. For example: all plastic explosion-proof lamps, explosion-proof flashlight.

4. Classification according to the protection level of the enclosure: in order to prevent dust, solid foreign matters and water from entering the lamp chamber, touching or accumulating on live parts may cause fire, short circuit or damage to electrical insulation, there are many enclosure protection methods to protect electrical insulation. The characteristic letter "IP" followed by two numbers is used to characterize the degree of protection of its enclosure. The first number indicates the protection ability against people, solid foreign matters or dust. It is divided into 0-6 levels. The explosion-proof lamp is a sealed lamp, and its dust-proof ability * * * is at least more than level 4. The second number indicates the water protection ability, which is divided into level 0-8.

5. Classification according to the support surface materials of the lamp design: indoor explosion-proof lamps may be installed on many surfaces of common combustible materials, such as wooden walls and ceilings. They do not allow the temperature of the installation surface of explosion-proof lamps to exceed the safety value. According to whether the explosion-proof lamps can be directly installed on the surface of ordinary combustible materials, they can be divided into two categories.
