Why LED Lights Flicker (And How to Fix It)
LED flickering is usually caused by one of a few common issues. Here's how to diagnose and fix it:
1. Incompatible Dimmer Switch
Most common cause. Many older dimmers were designed for incandescent bulbs and don't work well with LEDs' low power draw.
Fix: Replace with an LED-compatible/trailing-edge dimmer switch
2. Loose Wiring or Connections
Flickering often means electricity isn't flowing consistently.
Fix: Turn off power at the breaker, then check and tighten all wire connections at the fixture, switch, and junction box. If you're not comfortable with electrical work, call a licensed electrician.
3. Voltage Fluctuations
Your home's electrical supply may have unstable voltage, especially if large appliances (AC, fridge, etc.) are cycling on/off on the same circuit.
Fix: Try plugging the light into a different circuit, or install a voltage stabilizer if fluctuations are frequent
4. Faulty or Low-Quality LED Driver
The driver converts AC to DC power for the LED. Cheap or failing drivers are a common flicker source.
Fix: Replace with a higher-quality driver rated for your LED's wattage, Meanwell led driver is very high quality LED driver

5. Overloaded Circuit
Too many devices on one circuit can cause voltage drops.
Fix: Redistribute devices across circuits, or have an electrician assess your circuit load
6. Incompatible Light Switch (Smart Switches)
Some smart switches or motion sensors don't send a clean signal to LEDs.
Fix: Check the switch manufacturer's compatibility list for LED bulbs
7. Bulb Not Fully Seated
Sometimes it's as simple as a loose connection at the socket.
Fix: Turn off power, remove the bulb, and reinsert it firmly
When to call an electrician: If flickering happens across multiple lights/rooms, or you notice burning smells, warm outlets, or breaker trips - these could indicate a more serious wiring issue and should be inspected by a professional , you can see more information on http://www.benweilight.com
