Describe A19.
The word "A19" refers to the general size and shape of a light bulb. The bulb should specifically be roughly pear-shaped, measuring between 100 and 110 mm in length and 60 to 70 mm in breadth.

How A19 Differs from Other A-Series Bulbs

The number in A-series bulbs refers to the widest diameter in eighths of an inch. Here's the breakdown:

A15: 15/8 inches (about 48mm) – compact size for fridges, ovens, and small fixtures

A19: 19/8 inches (about 60mm) – your standard household bulb

A21: 21/8 inches (about 67mm) – bigger and brighter, great for large rooms

Same classic shape, just different sizes. Double-check your fixture has enough room before you buy.

Describe E26.

E26 just refers to the lamp base; it tells us nothing about the bulb's actual shape. The mounting technique for an E26 screw-in bulb is a 26 millimetre diameter screw, however the light itself can be any size or form.

E26 bases are compatible with all A19 lights, but not the other way around.

It must also employ an E26 screw base, according to the regulations that set forth the specifications for the size and construction of A19 light bulbs. In other words, an E26 base is included on every A19 light bulb.

Nevertheless, not all light bulbs with an E26 base have the A19 form factor, as we said before.

Be mindful of this distinction when buying bulbs to make sure you get the right one for your light fixture!
