Cross-strait LED cooperation will dominate the world's LED industry pattern
As far as the current situation is concerned, the competitive advantage of Taiwanese LED companies lies in technology development, fine manufacturing, marketing and brand building. However, Taiwan's local market is limited after all. The LED market is mainly outside the island, and its back-end packaging has been transferred to the mainland. The development of the entire industry is increasingly dependent on the mainland. Mainland China has a vast LED market and low-cost production and processing capabilities, but its high-end product development, marketing and brand building capabilities are weak. Therefore, enterprises on both sides of the strait have a strong need for cooperation. Analysis by Gao Zhiqian, one of the consulting experts on cross-strait industrial cooperation and a member of the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology Development Strategy of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
There is no doubt that the vast LED market in the mainland is the most attractive to Taiwanese companies. Although LED has not developed in the mainland for a long time, it has developed rapidly.
According to Philips forecasts, LED lighting will account for 90% of the total lighting market in 2020, and traditional general lighting will only account for 10% of the market. The vice president of strategy and business development of Cree, the world's top 5 LED manufacturers, pointed out in an interview with the mainland Chinese media that the current LED market is in short supply and may become a long-term problem.
1. Recently, Inspur (Jinan) Optoelectronics Industrial Park, with an investment of 4 billion yuan, officially started construction in Jinan High-tech Zone. After the completion of this park, together with Weifang and Linyi Optoelectronics Industrial Parks, it has become the largest LED industry base in China. The largest semiconductor lighting industry base.
2. According to the plan, the Optoelectronics Industrial Park will be implemented in three phases, with a planned total investment of 1.7 billion yuan. It is expected to be completed in 2011 and will achieve annual sales revenue of 3 billion yuan after reaching production capacity. The entire optoelectronic industrial park project is planned to be completed within 5-8 years. After the completion of the third phase, the annual sales revenue will be 9 billion yuan, which is equivalent to 17% of the total global LED market in 2008.
3. On the afternoon of November 9, Huizhou City signed an LED chip project with Career of the United States, becoming the second city in China to join Career's "LED City Plan" after Tianjin.
4. Wang Lianghai, general manager of Tsinghua Tongfang Consumer Electronics Division, revealed that Tongfangzheng is planning to build the largest domestic LED industry base in southern China. It is estimated that the first phase will invest 1 billion yuan, and the first phase of LED module production capacity will reach 400,000 pieces. The current project Has entered the site selection stage.
5. The American POWERMARK CORPORATION and the Shanggao County People's Government signed a letter of intent to invest in the production of high-power LED lighting projects, and signed a contract with a capital of 20 million US dollars to build a LED lighting research and development production and processing base.
In addition, many large domestic companies are optimistic about the cake of the Chinese LED market. In the next few years, China may become a world-class LED industry base.
It is estimated that in 2010, the rapid popularization of China's LED industry in the application market of NB, LCDTV, etc. stimulated a huge increase in the demand for LED chips and packaging. The application market demand is expected to reach 17.6 billion US dollars, an increase of 64%.
With the country's vigorous advocacy of green and energy saving, LED gradually entered people's sight and developed rapidly in a short period of time.
LED applications can be divided into three main categories: LCD screen backlight, LED lighting, and LED display. Up to now, the main application bottleneck of LED in China lies in the price factor, and its high price is still difficult to be accepted by mass consumers. However, with the technical investment of various enterprises and the strong support of the country, it is believed that the popularization of LED products in our country is expected.
