Different LED Lighting Distribution Styles

Predicting and controlling the direction of the light is now easier than ever thanks to LED technology. The type of lighting distribution is one of the key factors for every manufacturer or supplier to take into account. Light split and light pollution can be reduced, luminaire quantities can be saved, and the quality of the light may be ensured.

When it comes to lighting walkways, paths, and sidewalks, the Type I distribution excels. The center of the pathway is the ideal location for this type of lighting. This offers sufficient lighting for narrower routes. In the cone of maximal candlepower, Type I is a two-way lateral distribution with a recommended lateral breadth of 15 degrees. Along a roadway, the two main light concentrations are in opposing directions. This kind is typically used for luminaire placements close to the center of a roadway when the mounting height is roughly equivalent to the width of the roadway.
