GUIDE FOR SHOP THE RIGHT LED LIGHTS

LED lights have overtaken the entire lighting industry. The lights based on this technology have emerged as a nightmare for other sources of illumination. The reason for this is the numerous features offered by LED light bulbs compared to other conventional lighting sources.

What features make LED lights special?

An LED light used in place of a metal halide or high pressure sodium bulb has better features:

Can fit into the existing light fixtures

Economical

Environmentally Friendly

Easy maintenance

Longevity

Energy-efficiency

Bright and constant illumination

All these features motivate people to move towards LED lighting. You might be thinking about moving to LED bulbs as compared to conventional lights at your home or office. With the longevity of LED lights, this can often be a one-time investment to make the change to LED lights. You should take into account certain factors when shopping for these illuminants:

Does the luminare come with safety certifications?

Of course, safety is the initial consideration. Does the dealer from whom you are planning to shop for some LED basketball court lights have the appropriate certification? For instance, you can check whether the lights they sell are UL listed. UL listed certification is the safety standard in lights these days. If the lights are UL listed, you can confidently opt for the LED lights your dealer sells.

Are there clear specifications?

Before you shop for an LED Parking Lot lights, you should check whether the seller has clearly given the specification for each light. A knowledgeable dealer will help their customers by providing clearly specified details about each and every product they sell to answer a customer's questions before they ask them. With commercial use, often certain certifications and specifications are required so having this information readily available is a sign of a good seller.

Does the seller assure quality and warranty?

This is yet another consideration to make before you shop for LED lights from any seller. Whether it's online shopping or direct retail shopping, it is better to check whether the dealer and/or manufacturer has specified the warranty period for the light under the specifications category. When this warranty is present, you can be rest assured that you are spending your money only on quality lights. A longer warranty is typically a sign of better quality in the part being sold. With the standard being a 1 year warranty on most products these days (and some as short as 30 days), if you find a warranty longer than a year, you are buying a quality product.

DLC certified LED lights also insure you are getting a quality product. The DLC is a non-profit organization with the purpose of testing and certifying the quality and specifications listed by manufacturers on their lights. If you see DLC certifications, you know that what you are buying will live up to the specifications the manufacturer claims.

Are there rebates available for LED lighting?

There are many programs out there with the government or your local power company offering rebates for making the switch to more efficient LED lighting. You should check whether the lights that a company deals with are DLC listed to help you get these rebates on your purchase. You save money and help to safeguard the environment by shifting from the conventional lights to the ultra efficient LED illuminants.

Are there different light options?

Before you shop for an LED light or fixture from a dealer or manufacturer, get an idea of what you need and find a dealer with lots of options. An LED corn light bulb may be good for some applications while a retrofit kit, or even a new fixture all together, may be the better for other applications. If you aren't sure what is going to be best for you, call a reputable dealer and talk to someone in the know to help you find the best fit for your needs.

Consider all these factors and get the best lights for your home or commercial establishment.
