How many high bay lights are needed for industrial lighting?
The factors that affect the number of industrial lighting equipment rooms are:
1. Location. Common applications of high bay lights include warehouses, workshops, exhibition halls, etc. Different applications require different brightness.
2. Lamp power and luminous flux of industrial and mining lamps
3. Space utilization factor and maintenance factor
Industrial lighting can generally be roughly calculated using the following formula: Average illuminance (Eav) = luminous flux of a single lamp Φ × number of lamps (N) × space utilization (CU) × maintenance factor (K) ÷ floor space (length × width) .
Power Density Selection: The recommended power density of traditional MH/HID lamps for industrial lighting is about 10-30 watts/square meter, while for LED lighting, 3-12 watts/square meter is ideal. For ordinary office LED lighting, 3-7 watts/square meter will reach more than 300lx. For hotels and shopping malls that require higher brightness above 500lx, it can be designed to be 5-12 watts/square meter.
Here is an example. The industrial lighting machining workshop is 60m long, 30m wide, 8m high, and the working surface is 0.8m high. The ceiling is of cement-and-soil structure and the walls are painted white. After careful consideration, the owner decided to use a 400lx work surface for good visibility and improved worker safety, so how many elevated should they have?
Take 150W LED high bay light as an example, 160lm/W light effect can provide 24,000lm. By default, the utilization (CU) is 0.7 and the maintenance factor (K) is 0.8. Take all the data to take the simple formula EAV=(Φ×N×CU×K)/(A×B), that is, 400=24,000*N*0.7*0.8/(60*30), so the number of LEDs should be N =54.
So we can roughly know that for industrial lighting, for a factory of 1800 square meters, 54 150W LED high bay lights of 160lm/W are enough. To determine the lighting effects, we prefer to run simulations by professional lighting designers on the computer.
