IESNA Classification of LED light distribution:
IESNA classifies the light distribution by an LED source based on the shape of the area that is illuminated by the fixture.

Type I: The LED will have a two-way lateral distribution of light, with two bright light beams that illuminate in the opposite directions. The light will have a beam angle of 15°. It is ideal for illuminating walkways and sidewalks.

Type II: The LED will have a lateral width distribution of two bright light beams. In general, the light will have a beam angle of 25°. It is excellent for lighting up wide walkways or entrance roadways.

Type III: The LED will have a lateral width distribution of two bright light beams. In general, the type III LED light distribution will have a beam angle of 40°. It is excellent for general roadway lighting and parking lot illumination.
Type IV: The LED will have a lateral width distribution of two bright light beams. In general, this type of LED light distribution will have a beam angle of 90°- 270°. It is excellent for illuminating the perimeters of parking lots and business facilities.

Type V: The LED light will have circular light distribution. This type of distribution will have a beam angle of 360°. It is excellent for use in the center point of parking lots, or walkway intersections.

Type VI: The LED light will have a square distribution of light. This type of distribution will have a beam angle of 360°. It is excellent for use in the center point of parking lots, or walkway intersections. Contrary to type V, the VS distribution provides are more defined edge to an area’s lighting pattern.
