Matching table of home space area and light source wattage and illuminance

Whether it is home improvement or tooling, lamps and lanterns are indispensable decoration materials/furniture, which can both illuminate and decorate. Usually we find that when the public chooses lighting fixtures, they are more concerned about the brand, price and style. From the perspective of the light source, they pay more attention to the type and wattage of the light source. Why does this happen? What's the situation? In fact, it’s very simple, just because we don’t understand very well, we often say that there are many key factors for lamps, such as price, shape, material, light source type, color temperature, color rendering, beam angle, etc., and the rationality of lighting design must be considered. Too much, too difficult. If nothing else, let’s just talk about what most of us care about: the wattage of the light source.

Here, we will separate each space and talk about it

The living room lighting needs to be bright and bright: the living room generally occupies a relatively large area in the entire house and is also the main activity area, so it must have sufficient illumination and relatively high wattage requirements.

At the same time, the transparent and bright lighting environment will also make the living room look more atmospheric. Therefore, we generally recommend that the wattage of the living room lamps should be 60-450w.

The bedroom lighting should be soft and warm: the bedroom is only used for sleeping and resting, so it needs soft light, no glare, and no glare. Such an environment makes it easier for people to sleep.

Therefore, we usually do not recommend making the bedroom lighting too bright. Depending on the area, it is sufficient to choose the wattage of the light source between 13-50w.

Kitchen lighting must have sufficient brightness: to a certain extent, kitchen lighting is actually task lighting. But the difference is that the working area of kitchen lighting is relatively small, requiring relatively concentrated light.

Because subtle movements such as cutting vegetables and washing vegetables must be accurately lighted to avoid unnecessary unhygienic and even dangerous situations. We suggest that it is more appropriate to control the local working lighting in the kitchen at 8-38w.

What's more important is the location of the kitchen lighting, not the wattage selection.

In particular, for the bedroom, there are two special cases to be considered separately: the elderly room and the children's room

The lighting in the elderly room should have a high wattage: because the eyesight of the elderly is generally weak, the light from the same lamps can be significantly less for the elderly than for the young. Therefore, if you want the elderly to feel the normal brightness, you need to increase the wattage of the lamp on the basis of the young.

Therefore, 13-50w is enough for a bedroom light source for young people, but 25-100w for an elderly room.

Children’s room lighting should be soft: Contrary to the elderly, children’s retina is not well developed, so too bright light will negatively stimulate the eyes.

Therefore, the light in the children's room does not need to be too bright, and it does not matter even if it can be dimmed. Usually, we will choose the light source of lamps and lanterns in children's room in a range of 13-50w.
