The importance of light to animals

The importance of light to animals
We take the animal chicken as a case study to analyze the importance of light to animals. The farm raises a group of chickens, which are raised according to different types, sizes, and uses of different chickens. Therefore, the lights used for breeding must be professional, reliable and provided by a company with excellent after-sales service. Shenzhen Benwei Lighting Technology Co., Ltd. is a professional manufacturer. As a factory for breeding lamps, the company can provide free sample testing and can also customize the lamps needed for breeding according to customer requirements.
This lighting company will produce different LED breeding lights (IP54 (indoor) or IP67 (outdoor)), such as red light used when raising laying hens and breeders. One of the main functions of red light is to regulate melatonin and Stimulating reproductive activity, the red spectrum is the only one that carries the oscillators of the hypothalamus and pineal gland. The rhythm of melatonin synthesis is sensed directly or indirectly by the pineal gland and is driven by a combination of extrapinal and intrapinal oscillators that regulate light intensity information. Melatonin works by enhancing the immune response and counteracting immunodeficiency states caused by acute stress, viral disease, aging, or drug therapy. The hypothalamus controls the reproduction of the hen, and when the hen responds to light, it stimulates the stimulation of hypothalamic photosensitive cells by receiving light energy under light stimulation. This means that the light intensity and spectrum must be sufficient for the light to penetrate feathers, skin, skull and brain tissue. Light stimulation of the hypothalamus results in the secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). When activated by GnRH, the anterior pituitary gland secretes two gonadotropins, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). FSH acts on the sperm-producing structures in the testicles, while LH acts on the Leydig cells of the testicles, causing them to secrete the steroid hormone testosterone. LH is essential for sexual maturation and daily egg production, and is an integral component of daily ovulation events.
Providing a red light at the beginning of the rearing period can increase the growth rate of breeder chickens. Red lights stimulate locomotor activity and the adolescent birds' ability to find and eat food more easily. Increased activity helps minimize leg disease later in life. Therefore, professional breeding lights may affect the health, growth yield and animal comfort of the entire flock through lighting.
