Types of solar photovoltaic panels

Types of solar photovoltaic panels

Hello everyone, solar power generation is also called photovoltaic power generation. The current penetration rate is really much higher than that of 15 years ago! Just take the cost of tens of dollars per watt 15 years ago to make ordinary households and businesses in China I can’t afford to call it directly~~ But after the National Development and Reform Commission started the kilowatt-hour subsidy, the cost of photovoltaics has plummeted, and China’s photovoltaic market has also started a spurt of growth. At the same time, photovoltaic power generation has also developed into: large-scale centralized ground power stations, small-scale distributed power stations, and smaller-scale household distributed power stations. Of course, what we are most familiar with is the household distributed power station. Of course, many families who have not installed it here are also starting to move! But in the face of a wide variety of solar panel brands and different types of solar panels, how should we choose? The following editor will give you science popularization:

First of all, we first understand that the current mainstream applications of solar panels on the market are divided into: 1. Monocrystalline solar panels. 2. Polycrystalline solar panels. 3. Thin film solar panels. The difference between the three of them is:

1. Monocrystalline silicon

The photoelectric conversion efficiency of monocrystalline silicon solar cells is about 18%, and the highest is 24%. This is the highest photoelectric conversion efficiency of all types of solar cells, but the production cost is very high. Because monocrystalline silicon generally uses tempered glass and waterproof The resin is encapsulated, so it is durable and has a service life of up to 25 years.

2. Polysilicon

The production process of polycrystalline silicon solar cells is similar to that of monocrystalline silicon solar cells, but the photoelectric conversion efficiency of polycrystalline silicon solar cells has to be reduced a lot, and its photoelectric conversion efficiency is about 16%. In terms of production cost, it is cheaper than monocrystalline silicon solar cells, the materials are simple to manufacture, the power consumption is saved, and the total production cost is lower, so it has been developed in a large amount. In terms of cost performance, monocrystalline silicon solar cells are slightly better.

3. Amorphous silicon

Amorphous silicon solar cell is a new type of thin film solar cell that appeared in 1976. It is completely different from monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon solar cells. The process is greatly simplified, the silicon material consumption is low, and the power consumption is lower. The advantage is that it can generate electricity in low light conditions. However, the main problem of amorphous silicon solar cells is that the photoelectric conversion efficiency is low, the international advanced level is about 10%, and it is not stable enough. As time goes by, its conversion efficiency decays.
