What is an isolated LED tube?
The isolated led tube is safe and will not get an electric shock, but it is low in efficiency, high in cost, troublesome to install, non-isolated and unsafe, easy to get an electric shock, high in efficiency, and low in cost
Isolated LED tube power supply means that the input end and the output end are isolated by a transformer, which can isolate the input and output with high safety. Due to the addition of the isolation transformer, the efficiency of the power supply will be reduced, usually about 85%, and the volume of the transformer is also relatively large, and the space inside the lamp tube will be significantly tighter.
The non-isolated LED lamp power supply means that there is a direct electrical connection between the input end and the output end, so there is a risk of electric shock when touching the output part. At present, the non-isolated step-down power supply is more commonly used, that is, the AC power is rectified to obtain a DC high voltage, and then the Buck circuit is used for step-down and constant current control.
The characteristics of this kind of non-isolated LED tube power supply are: simple circuit and small size; usually the efficiency is between 88-90%; it can output high voltage to support hundreds of LED strings formed by different series and parallel connections. However, this kind of non-isolated power supply also has its limitations, because the non-isolated power supply will lead the high voltage of the AC power supply to the output part, causing the risk of electric shock. Usually the AC input and the aluminum heat dissipation shell of the lamp are insulated by a printed circuit board. Although the withstand voltage can reach 2000V, it is still difficult to pass the CE and other safety certifications.
