Why is good lighting important?

What makes lighting crucial?
Proper lighting facilitates all labor processes, whether in an industrial or office context. The visual sense accounts for around 85% of human information intake. In addition to reducing eye strain and headaches, proper lighting helps minimize workplace accidents by making moving equipment and other safety risks more visible. It should also not cast any shadows or glare. Additionally, "momentary blindness" events and injuries are less likely with high-quality illumination (momentary low field vision due to eyes adjusting from brighter to darker, or vice-versa, surroundings).
The following factors are also important for "seeing" when working:
the moment to pay attention to anything. The visibility of moving objects is poor.
the dimensions of a thing. It's challenging to see very little items.
Brightness. It is difficult to discern things when there is too much or not enough reflected light.
contrast between an object's immediate surroundings and it. When there is insufficient contrast, it is difficult to distinguish an item from its surroundings.
