Why most of the GU10 LEDs currently on the market are a bad investment!

You might already be familiar with the typical GU10 LED Bulbs because they are used in places like stores and restaurants, and maybe even in the homes of your friends or relatives.

GU10 LEDs are direct replacements for 50w GU10 Halogens; at the moment, their wattages range from 3w to 9w, and they typically have between 3 and 5 LEDs installed in them.

They are marketed as a "quick fix" solution; nevertheless, in our opinion, they are not a suitable replacement for high-quality LED downlights.

The majority of the GU10 LEDs that are now available on the market are a poor investment for the following reasons:

A secondary consideration. Some GU10 LEDs have long heat sinks, which prevents them from fitting directly into GU10 Halogen Holders. Because of this, the LEDs have to be left protruding, which can be an unattractive sight.

Poor quality of the light. The GU10 LEDs come in two primary colour temperatures: the white can have a clinical and icy appearance, while the warm white can have a yellowish or just plain strange appearance.

Flickering. Be aware that there are some that are being marketed on the market that produce an extremely quick strobing effect that may be barely visible but could be irritating to the eye. This does not impact all of them, and improvements are continually being made, but be aware that there are some.

Short lifespan. LEDs have a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, but this time span can be cut in half if they are overwhelmed or if the junction of the LED is not kept at a temperature that is lower than the one allowed by the manufacturer. When it comes to dissipating the heat away from the LEDs, the higher powered GU10 LEDs don't actually have the surface area on their heat sinks to do so effectively. The built-in driver generates heat as well, contributing to the overall temperature that the driver and the LED are subjected to, which ultimately results in a shorter lifespan for both components.

Double problem. There are two components that have the potential to fail: the LEDs themselves, as well as the built-in Driver (Transformer). If any of these components fails, the LED fitting as a whole will typically need to be thrown out.

The Answer

If you are looking at this article, it is likely because you are interested in replacing the Halogens or Light Bulbs that you now have. You have the option of "buying cheap and paying twice" or shelling out a little bit more money to acquire LED Downlights. At the very least, kindly contact us by phone first.

The following are some of the benefits that our Downlights provide:LED Downlight Capable of Dimming, 18 Watt

The most recent iteration of Chip-On-Board technology consists of a single LED that is surrounded by a matrix of LED Emitters.

Because the Driver (Transformer) is located outside, the electronics can operate at a lower temperature, which results in a longer lifespan.

This eliminates the mains 50hz cycle that is evident in some GU10 LEDs, thus there is no flickering or strobing as a result of the smoothing circuit that is integrated into the driver.

The "on" time is quite quick, and there is no wait.

Long lifetime the LED is not overwhelmed, and the temperature is kept at a minimum by using an external driver and using a huge heatsink with significantly more surface area than the GU10s. This combination results in the temperature remaining at a minimum.

They provide the impression that they belong in any setting, be it a mansion, a 17th century cottage, or a terraced dwelling.

Some consumers aren't sure which Downlights to get or how many they need to purchase. Because we offer a 7-day money-back guarantee, there is no risk involved for you to test out one or two of our Downlights during that time. We encourage our customers to compare them against any GU10 LED, and we guarantee that the light produced by our lights is brighter, looks better, and is very similar to the light produced by halogens, but without the expense of running those lights.
