Be wary of light pollution around us

Be wary of light pollution around us

While we are constantly pursuing comfortable lighting, we have overlooked an important issue, which even affects our daily life and physical health, we have to attach great importance to it. That is light pollution. So what is light pollution? Light pollution refers to the inappropriate or excessive use of artificial lighting caused by modern urban buildings and night lighting. This kind of excessive lighting can cause serious environmental problems to humans, wild animals and plants and our climate, and belongs to a new type of environmental pollution. We divide it into three categories:

1. High-brightness pollution: when the sunlight is strong, the glass curtain walls, glazed brick walls, polished marble and various paints of buildings in the city reflect light, which is dazzling. This is a common problem in modern cities. Fortunately, some places have begun to restrict.

2. Artificial daylight: when night falls, the advertising lights and neon lights on shopping malls and hotels flicker, and some strong light beams even go straight into the sky, just like daytime. For example, large-scale LED display screens, in order to enhance the effect of advertising, some illuminance as high as 10000LUX, will make you feel dizzy.

3. Color light pollution: black lights, revolving lights, fluorescent lights, and flickering colored light sources installed in dance halls and nightclubs constitute color light pollution, which is extremely harmful to the eyes. In addition, chemical haze caused by automobile exhaust and ultraviolet rays in industry and medicine belong to the category of light pollution.

Especially when we live in big cities, this phenomenon is getting more and more serious. The nightlife in big cities is rich, work is highly stressful, and the pressure is high. The severity of its light pollution is beyond our imagination. We have to pay attention to it and fight against light pollution.
