At CES, ZKW and LG are demonstrating their advancements in infotainment and intelligent car lighting.

The LG concept vehicle, which features ZKW's high-resolution microZ-LED headlights, is the main attraction. This should enable future "drive-in theater" displays that resemble movies. Along with the latest innovations, ZKW will showcase the GM Chevy Silverado headlights for the significant American vehicle market, the Volvo EX90 headlight with the moving "Thorhammer," animated rear lights, sustainable headlights, and an intelligent "Illuminated Panel" and illuminated bumper (in collaboration with Rehau). Wilhelm Steger, CEO of the ZKW Group, says, "With our locations in Silao/Mexico and Troy/Michigan, we offer customers in the USMCA economic area innovative lighting systems that can interact with other road users and increase driving safety."

The LG Concept Car provides guests with a glimpse of the future of automotive entertainment in the CES Public Area. The ZKW microZ headlamp modules that are incorporated into the front of the show vehicle serve as an example of how intelligent front lighting might be used in the future to produce dynamic projections. The headlamps' projector feature creates a 100-inch picture that may be utilized to show a variety of entertainment material based on over-the-top (OTT) communication over the Internet (like Netflix), turning the vehicle into a mobile movie theater. Together with LG, we are expanding our range to new heights with the "Digital Lighting Experience" vision and approach, Steger says.

In the CES Private Area, ZKW will also be exhibiting its most recent product advancements. Highlights include the first-ever lighted bumper (called "Bumper") and the multicolored front grille (called "Panel"), both of which were created in collaboration with REHAU Automotive. To demonstrate how contemporary electronics, lighting, and sensor systems may be incorporated into car fronts, ZKW will deploy demonstrations. For instance, the idea may be used to rebuild the front end of electric cars that do not need radiators as a smart design element that has heating, lights, a logo, and a sensor. Intelligent car fronts and other series items that communicate with other drivers will be created in the future in order to improve road safety.

Intelligent lighting systems

The Volvo EX90's sophisticated headlights are one of ZKW's most recent advancements. Based on digital HD LED modules with a resolution of more than 1.3 million pixels, they perfectly block out other road users and dynamically adjust the light to the traffic conditions. The premium headlights include a unique function that allows the daytime running lights to be swiveled up and down in the form of a classic Volvo hammer, exposing the primary light modules. This design innovation also helps to conserve installation space. In a recent advancement, ZKW and OSRAM are introducing novel rear light modules that use transparent LEDs adhered to a clear carrier substrate. An animated surface with the ability to show brake lights, tail lights, indicators, and lighted logos is the end product. At CES, the GM Chevy Silverado's redesigned headlamp-which allows the charge indication to be animated by light-will also be on show.

Eco-friendly manufacturing

ZKW wants all of its goods to be CO2-neutral by 2038 and its worldwide manufacturing to be CO2-neutral by 2025. By reducing trash, conserving energy, and converting to green power, this objective will be accomplished. The lighting systems expert will be showcasing at CES how improved materials and procedures may lead to sustainable lighting. ZKW is collaborating with partners on the "SusMat4CarLight" project to investigate recyclable materials, such as polymers made from renewable raw resources, for use in future lighting systems. "We can cut CO2 emissions from manufacturing and goods by 60% thanks to our sustainability approach. More sustainable and efficient development and production are the goals. For the ZKW Group and its clients, sustainable management is a major priority, according to Steger.
