Customer Case Study: Daniel's Modern TV Wall Installation with LED Ambient Lighting

We are delighted to share a detailed case study from our customer Daniel, who documented his TV wall installation project. In this step-by-step guide, he explains how to create both a beautiful and functional media wall while sharing professional insights on LED ambient lighting installation.

1. Inspiration Gathering and Planninginfo-601-458

Daniel aimed to create an elegant frame for his 55-inch TV while covering the room's existing fireplace. He began by gathering design inspiration from Pinterest to define his desired aesthetic.

"By browsing Pinterest, I collected numerous ideas for modern TV wall designs, which helped me clarify the final look I wanted to achieve," Daniel shared.

2. Precise Measurements and Material Selection

After finalizing the design direction, Daniel took precise measurements and created detailed scale plans for the new TV wall. He selected 3×1.5-inch stud timber and 12mm MDF boards as his primary materials.

"After completing all measurements, I produced scaled drawings for the wooden frame," Daniel explained. "I specifically chose MDF over plaster so the entire structure could be easily removed if I decide to redesign the room in the future."

3. Professional LED Lighting Consultation

To achieve the ideal backlighting effect, Daniel consulted with Benwei's sales team. "I described to the Benwei team the backlighting effect I wanted to create-bright enough to illuminate the entire room," Daniel said. "They recommended all necessary products and provided professional installation advice, which helped me optimize the frame design to maximize the LED effect."

4. Preparation Work

After completing detailed planning and purchasing all materials, Daniel removed the existing fireplace to prepare for the new TV wall installation.

6. LED Strip Installation

With the frame in place, Daniel proceeded to install LED strips around the TV wall and the alcoves on both sides. Following Benwei's recommendations, he selected neutral white (approximately 4000K) 24V LED strips with 20 watts per meter consumption, ensuring comfortable room lighting during evening hours.

The strips are powered by a 100-watt LED driver, with control and dimming managed through one of Benwei's all-in-one remote/receiver kits.

After confirming all LED strips were properly installed, wired, and functioning, Daniel began installing the MDF panels for the TV wall.

"The final step was painting all MDF surfaces," Daniel told us. "I first applied a specialized MDF primer, followed by emulsion paint."
