Determining the lifespan of a battery
A battery's lifespan will vary greatly depending on how it is used, how it is cared for and charged, the temperature, and other factors. The lifespan of a battery will also depend on its type.
Gel or AGM batteries 12 volts
The typical lifespan of a 12-volt Gel or AGM battery is up to six years if kept charged when not in use. At an average ambient temperature of 25 oC throughout the course of five or six years of float voltage, the battery still has 80% of its initial capacity. The battery's lifespan will be shortened by higher average temperatures. A 12-volt battery's structure and quality are closely connected to the number of charge and discharge cycles that it has through. 12-volt gel batteries can withstand 500 full cycles of being fully charged, then fully drained to 20% of their original capacity.
Batteries are typically deemed to be exhausted when they have 80% of their original capacity left. However, this does not necessitate a quick battery replacement. For instance, if only 50% of the battery's capacity is actually needed, the battery can still be used. Therefore, the battery does not need to be changed after six years or 500 complete cycles. The typical lifespan of 12-volt Gel or AGM batteries is seven years.
Gel batteries with a voltage of two
The maximum number of full cycles for 2-volt traction Gel cells is 1000–1500 when discharged to 20% of capacity, and their lifespan is at least 15 years. Because they can handle heavy use and have a very long lifespan, these batteries are ideal for bigger systems.
batterie lithium ion
More than 2000 cycles is the lifespan of BENWEI Lithium Ion batteries, which is three times longer than the majority of conventional lead-acid batteries. Due to factors like the battery management, very low self-discharge, the absence of memory effect, and a discharge of up to 20%, they have an incredibly long lifespan.
Feature
● Longer Service Life: Our 100ah lithium battery provides 2500 - 7000 cycles & a 10 years lifetime compared to 200 - 500 cycles & a 3 years lifetime in typical Lead Acid chemistry.
● Also supports expansion up to 2 batteries sequenced in series at 24V 100Ah, or max. 4 batteries in parallel at 12V 400Ah.
● Efficient Power: Our 100ah lithium battery’s flat discharge curve holds above 12V for up to 95% of its capacity usage providing astronomical boosts in run-time compared to only 50% in Lead Acid.
