mcu enables LED lamps to achieve smart lighting
In order to achieve the goals of dimming control, color conversion and high-efficiency use of energy, the introduction of LED lamps into the MCU can make indoor lighting, outdoor lighting, decorative lighting, and emergency lighting have more application changes, such as controlling LED lights in a day, Adjust the brightness according to each different time period to save energy, or perform remote group control through the digital addressable lighting interface (DALI) in the MCU, and monitor whether the LED device is still operating normally at any time, so as to inform the engineering staff for quick maintenance. These new applications make LED lights not only on and off, but also more flexible use.
As the use of LEDs becomes more and more popular, the applications are becoming more and more diversified. Among them, the business opportunities of smart lighting systems are more expected by the industry. In order to create an LED smart lighting system, the introduction of MCU can realize functions such as automatic brightness adjustment, automatic color conversion, environmental sensing, and group system control, enriching the applicability of LED lighting and improving energy efficiency.
MCU can enable LED lamps to realize smart lighting systems, fully improve energy efficiency and enrich multiple LED applications.
In the past, LED lamps lacked control and changes. Even though LEDs are more durable than traditional halogen lamps and incandescent lamps, the light output of LEDs will still be affected by aging and temperature and degrade after long-term use, resulting in easy electricity in the lamps and lanterns. Damage, greatly reducing the reliability, and the lack of dimming defects also cause inefficiency in energy use. The combination of the above factors will eventually shorten the life of the LED. At the same time, the application will be more boring due to the inability to change the light.
For the entertainment-type decorative lighting market, due to the colorful content of entertainment performances, not only intelligent automatic dimming is emphasized, but also the service life, luminous efficiency and light stability of LED lighting fixtures are also quite required. Therefore, dimmable drivers are designed to solve the above problems. The problem began to be designed in the lighting system.
It is understood that Infineon has launched two MCUs, XC835 and XC836, in order to seize the LED smart lighting market. In addition to the number of pins and sizes, the biggest difference between these two MCUs is that XC836 supports DALI, which can be used for LED lamps. The remote control of the smart system is not supported by XC835. In addition, both models can support touch control, and both have features such as high heat resistance (150°C) and high reliability. At present, this series of MCUs are mainly used in T4, T8 and other small and medium fluorescent tubes and bulb lamps that are common in the entertainment decorative lighting market.
