The Features That Make It A Superior Lithium Battery

Although the initial generation of lithium batteries immediately outperformed lead-acid batteries, customers were still left wanting. Even while partial state of charge, charging methods, maintenance, and battery life concerns were all resolved by lithium batteries, this does not imply that higher expectations were not raised as a result.
The battery series was created by BENWEI with these issues and demands in mind. Based on our analysis of the areas where current lithium batteries fell short, we established precise design requirements and decided not to release a battery for sale unless it met all of the criteria. Let's look at a couple of the battery's features that we created based on what wasn't present previously.
Easily Replaceable Drop-In
- Adaptive power to your capacity demands
- Ability to manage regen currents and intelligent hardware design
- Battery Management System and clever software development
- Accessibility: Drop-in, ready to use
In terms of the size and design of the battery, BENWEI wanted to be wholly conventional and entirely unoriginal. Except for batteries, we did not want anyone to need to make any changes to their vehicles. The removal of your bulky lead-acid batteries is the most challenging component of the installation.
The 48V fits into the typical battery trays for utility vehicles, golf cars, and low-speed vehicles.
When the batteries are put into the tray, they are linked in parallel using the battery cables, which means the positive and negative terminals are connected together. In order to link the CAN cables after connecting the battery cables, just connect the CAN Out of one battery to the CAN In of the following battery, the CAN Out of that battery to the CAN In of the next battery, and so on.
Although it is not necessary for the batteries to be used, the CAN Cable Connection makes our Bullseye Balancing possible, the first of several "smart" features. Through CAN connectivity, the batteries exchange information and automatically balance themselves.
How much storage do you require? What amount do you desire?
To acquire 48 volts from your array, lead-acid and other lithium batteries must be linked in series. To customise the capacity you want, you may simply connect multiple t batteries in parallel as each one is 48 volts in voltage.
Although ten batteries may be connected in parallel. This has a 300 Amp-hour capacity. This translates to a range of 120–150 miles per charge.
This is a good moment to emphasise that each 48V battery weighs 34 pounds, nearly half the weight of a typical battery. This may seem high based on previous batteries you've owned and your mental maths, however, the lead-acid battery's weight. Your distance per charge increases by two factors thanks to the combination of more capacity and reduced weight. To acquire the same range as their prior lead-acid batteries, most users will utilise two or three batteries in their golf carts.
The battery remains calm and cool thanks to clever hardware design
The battery is the iPhone X if lithium batteries are cell phones and lead-acid batteries are rotary phones. The battery monitoring system (BMS) on BENWEI's as intelligent as any "smart" gadget you've ever used thanks to its technology and software.
The BMS hardware from benwei is completely solid-state; there are no moving parts. This maintains the battery's activities running much more smoothly and increases the battery's durability, especially if it is put in a utility vehicle. Traditional lithium batteries with electromechanical components may have minor problems under sudden settings. Both the hardware and the software in eliminate them, as we'll see below.
Utilising solid-state components has a design benefit in terms of heat generation and dissipation. Solid-state components are intended to produce less heat. More than any other BMS, batteries include a large number of components on each board. On its own, this may cause a buildup of heat. However, the layout of the individual parts and the distance between the circuit boards dissipate heat more effectively and completely than any other battery, maintaining the circuitry at an ideal operating temperature and extending the battery's lifespan.
The heat sink is another component that maintains a low temperature within the battery. The engineers, not the marketers, are responsible for the BENWEI nameplate on top of the battery.
The heat produced by all of the electronics has a way to escape by being placed on top of the battery by the heat sink. If a battery has a heat sink at all, it is often located inside the battery, which moves heat away from the electronics while still trapping it and raising the internal temperature over prolonged operation.
Ability to manage regen currents based on research
One of the most difficult characteristics of a lithium battery is processing regeneration currents, and we met the issue with a novel method. The amount of regen current that may reach the battery must be restricted in order to safeguard it, especially when the batteries are in a high state of charge. Traditional lithium batteries disconnect when a regen current surpasses a predetermined magnitude and duration due to this important safety feature. When the batteries are powering a car and they detect a regen current, they respond as though a high-power charger is attached and enter a safe mode right away. Resulting in their separation. All wires must be disconnected and then reconnected in order to restart the batteries.
BENWEI used a number of strategies to address this issue. To begin with, BENWEI batery has two inputs: one for charging currents and one for regeneration currents, and the batteries can distinguish between the two kinds of current. To create every possible profile of regen currents, our engineers left the lab and hopped into golf vehicles.
With the help of the data they generated, they created three separate filters that cover a variety of regen currents by combining amplitude and duration. By doing this, erroneous disconnections caused by regen currents that don't "fit" a profile are reduced.
Of course, there may still be circumstances in which unplugging is best for the battery. Due to the parallel connection of the BENWIE batteries, the output is unaffected when that occurs. The remaining batteries will continue to function at their previous level while one battery is disconnected. More than that, the battery reconnects on its own once the right circumstances are in place.
Without being aware of it, you will go through the complete process of reconnecting, disconnecting, and regenerating current.
The battery continues to learn thanks to clever software design.
We created a battery that can optimise itself since we couldn't be there to optimise every battery for the conditions you generate during its lifecycle.
The BMS processes a variety of inputs, and rather than just calculating outputs, the software's algorithms continuously learn about the battery. Standard algorithms in BMSs might cause results to wander over time when more variable input is processed via a predetermined set of computations. Since BMS is always being updated, its accuracy increases over time and is maintained.
The first lithium battery particularly created for golf cars, low-speed vehicles, and utility vehicles is BENWEI's series.
