U.S. Department of Energy-LED lighting is efficient and energy-saving

The report pointed out that traditional fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and LED lights are very similar in energy consumption. Both consume less energy than white bulbs. Compared with manufacturing and transportation, they consume most of the life cycle during operation. energy. Because of the high efficiency of operation, it consumes 12.5 watts of electricity and can achieve the same efficiency as CFLs (15 watts) and white bulbs (60 watts). 14 of the 15 tests in the report show that LED bulbs are the most environmentally friendly lamps among the three types of lighting.

In addition to having an advantage in discarding, various tests have shown that CFLs have a greater impact on the environment than LED bulbs. After the aluminum alloy material in the LED precipitates, it will cause great damage to the landfill. This DOE report pointed out that in the next five years, based on short-term improvement technology, LED’s impact on the environment will be smaller than today’s impact.

When the market is oriented to save money for customers and the company, and switch from white bulbs to energy-saving lighting, the environmental impact of LED lights and CFLs is expected to be reduced by 3 to 10 times today.
