Can I bring lithium batteries on the plane? Requirements and regulations on carrying lithium batteries on airplanes

According to the civil aviation industry standard of the People’s Republic of China, "Regulations for Air Transport of Lithium Batteries" (MH/T1020-2013) and "Regulations for Air Transport of Dangerous Goods Carried by Passengers and Crews" (MH/T1030-2010) and other relevant regulations and documents, passengers carry Please pay attention to the following items when using lithium-ion batteries in civil aircraft:

1. The rated energy of lithium-ion batteries carried is not allowed to exceed 160Wh, and those exceeding 160Wh should be transported through dangerous goods procedures.

2. Equipment containing lithium ion batteries (such as laptops, cameras, camcorders, etc.) should be carried and transported according to the following rules:

(1) It can be carried in checked baggage and carry-on baggage.

(2) There should be measures to prevent accidental start-up.

(3) The rated energy of lithium-ion batteries should not exceed 100Wh.

(4) Lithium ion batteries accompanying equipment with rated energy of 100Wh (exclusive) to 160Wh (inclusive) shall be approved by the operator (airline).

3. Spare lithium-ion batteries should be carried and transported according to the following rules:

(1) It can only be carried in carry-on luggage.

(2) Individual protection should be done to prevent short circuits. The spare batteries can be placed in the original retail packaging or the electrodes can be insulated-for example, sticking the exposed electrodes with tape, or placing the batteries on a plastic tape or In the protective bag.

(3) The rated energy of a single lithium ion battery should not exceed 100Wh.

(4) With the approval of the operator (airline), spare lithium-ion batteries with a rated energy of 100Wh (exclusive) to 160Wh (inclusive) can be carried, but no more than 2 pieces of spare lithium-ion batteries can be carried.

Passengers and crew members who carry wheelchairs or other similar mobility tools driven by lithium-ion batteries and portable medical electronic devices that contain metal or lithium-ion battery cells or batteries carried by passengers for medical purposes must comply with the "Technical Instructions" Transport and packaging are required to be carried and approved by the airline.

4. Portable electronic medical device:

(1) The rated energy of the lithium battery does not exceed 160Wh.

(2) Two pieces of spare batteries per person, a single protection measure, and carry it in a portable way.

(3) There should be measures to prevent accidental start-up.

(4) It should be approved by the operator (airline).

5. Electric wheelchair or transportation tool:

(1) The rated power of the lithium battery is not more than 300Wh.

(2) If the battery is removable, carry the battery.

(3) Spare battery: no more than 160Wh, two per person, no more than 300Wh, one per person. The battery is short-circuit-proof, anti-damage, and portable.

(4) It should be approved by the operator (airline).

(5) The check-in is responsible for notifying the captain.
