China's LED companies have a broad space for future development

The rise of my country's LED companies has intensified the competition in the lighting market in my country and Asia, forcing the world's manufacturers to break their wrists in order to survive. After Philips and Osram successively sold their lighting business, GE, a century-old lighting brand, has also announced its withdrawal from the lighting market in Asia and Latin America, and will stop all commercial activities in the future. Although GE Lighting is expected to focus more on LED and related technologies, the withdrawal of this century-old manufacturer from the Asian regional lighting market is undoubtedly a shock to the industry.

In recent years, with the rapid growth of LED lighting needs, more and more companies have participated in the LED lighting industry, resulting in fierce competition in the market and constant quotation wars. For example, in the bidding war of lighting giants in 2015, Philips hit the global light bulb business with the lowest light bulb offer.

With the increasingly fierce competition in the lighting market, and the trend of low-priced LED lighting, Philips and Osram sold or divested the LED lighting business, Samsung Electronics downgraded the LED business part to an operating group, LG also adjusted the LED business department, and now GE Lighting Exit Asian and Latin American malls. It can be seen that the world's major manufacturers are gradually declining, and mainland manufacturers are rapidly emerging with the support of policies, and their influence is gradually increasing. The withdrawal of the world's major manufacturers may provide a very good competitive environment for Chinese LED companies.

From the perspective of global market demand, while the penetration rate of LED lighting is still rising, the rapid growth of small-distance shopping malls has stimulated the demand for LEDs. According to the survey data, the global general lighting output in 2015 reached 82 billion US dollars (excluding automotive and other special lighting), and the LED lighting output was about 25.6 billion US dollars. The overall LED lighting market penetration rate has reached 31%. It is precisely because the penetration rate of LED lighting continues to rise, coupled with the fierce competition in the LED lighting industry, that the world's major manufacturers have abandoned the lighting business that has been operating for a century.

Since 2014, the LED industry has gradually moved from a growth period to a mature period. The scale of the LED industry has been further expanded, and the penetration rate of the LED lighting market has gradually increased. In addition to being widely used in landscape lighting, road lighting, commercial lighting, home lighting and other fields, visible light communication, plant lighting, UVLED, car lighting and other market segments It was also rapidly developed and quickly became the focus of professional attention.

At the same time, LED lighting has moved from alternative applications to on-demand lighting and beyond lighting, and the improvement of product value and light quality has become the focus. Coupled with the rapid development of the Internet, the Internet of Things and smart lighting have come to the "window". Now is the era of cross-border, when LED plus the Internet, the lighting industry will open the curtain of intelligence.

It can be seen that the outstanding development of the LED lighting market benefits from the improvement and deepening of the government's support policy for the LED industry, as well as the innovation of my country's LED companies.
