VERSION 5.1 OF DLC
Customers can find products that adhere to specific energy-saving criteria by using the DLC Qualified Products List (QPL). A product must be tested by a third party to make sure it satisfies certain performance requirements before it can be listed on the QPL.
The updated DLC regulations, which became effective in July 2022, help lighting goods be even more efficient and promote the creation of innovative technologies. Among the categories DCL keeps an eye on:
version number
Lighting effectiveness
Information controls by integral
Wattage, Power Factor, Color Rendering Index (CRI), and Correlated Color Temperature (CCT)
both the maker and the name
Information about light output and dimming
The modifications apply to both current products and any new items that are released after the cutoff date. For instance, fixtures without controls like occupancy sensors or dimmers won't be able to be listed as DLC on the QPL.
Therefore, it is crucial to confirm that any new lighting items you want to buy after July 2022 comply with the updated DLC regulations. By doing this, you can be confident that your purchase will increase the lighting system's effectiveness and lower your energy costs. Among the modifications made are:
glare reduction
Lighting effectiveness (increased base standards)
Categorization of wattage
Dimming capabilities (added as a required feature for some product ategories)
Inbuilt controls (occupancy sensors and dimmers must be included as a standard feature)
