How to choose the right lithium-ion battery

How to choose the right lithium-ion battery

How to choose lithium ion battery

Lithium-ion battery is a kind of battery made of non-aqueous electrolyte solution with lithium metal or lithium alloy as negative electrode material. Lithium metal batteries were first developed and researched by Gilbert. Lewis in 1912. In the 1970s, Watson proposed and began researching lithium-ion batteries. Due to the very active chemical properties of metal lithium, the processing, storage and use of metal lithium have very high environmental requirements. Therefore, lithium-ion batteries have not been used for a long time. With the development of science and technology, lithium-ion batteries have become the mainstream and are widely used in various electronic digital products. So what about lithium-ion batteries?

1. Look at appearance

Looking at the appearance refers to looking at the appearance, craftsmanship, size and craftsmanship of the lithium-ion battery. Check whether the shell stitching width is wide, whether there are burrs, whether there are oil stains, and the hand feeling is good.

2. See if the capacity is clearly marked

Lithium-ion batteries that do not have a clear capacity mark are likely to be junk batteries that use inferior batteries, or batteries that have been reassembled from recycled batteries. There are many inexpensive lithium-ion batteries on the market that are made from recycled or disassembled batteries. Although the price is cheap, the service life is short and the quality is unstable. Careless use may damage the equipment or even cause an explosion.

3. Look at the protection circuit

The characteristics of the lithium-ion battery determine that the lithium-ion battery must be equipped with a protective plate to prevent the occurrence of overcharge, overdischarge and short circuit of the lithium-ion battery. Without protective plates, lithium-ion batteries are at risk of warping, leaking, and exploding. Faced with fierce price competition, battery packers have sought cheaper protection circuits, or simply don't buy such devices, leaving the market flooded with potentially exploding lithium-ion batteries. Of course, in fact, consumers cannot protect the circuit board from the appearance difference, so it is best to choose a reputable merchant to buy.

4. Look at the brand

There are many brands of lithium-ion batteries, but it is difficult to see the quality from the appearance. In this case, everyone should do more homework before choosing, and check the manufacturer's information on the Internet. In general, specialized companies are more reliable than smaller companies, and established companies are more reliable than new entrants into the field.
