How to improve the light environment in the classroom
The myopia rate of children and adolescents in our country remains high and rising. The age and severity of myopia are becoming more and more serious, which has become a major problem related to the future of the country and the nation. The lighting environment of the classroom will also become a very important reason for the nearsightedness of young people. So which aspects should be taken to improve the lighting environment of the classroom? Let's take a look now!
It is well known that the decrease in eyesight of students and the increase in myopia rate are the result of a combination of many factors. However, in addition to the primary factors, excessive eye fatigue is the main cause of myopia. In the normal state of eye use, whether the lighting conditions are reasonable or not directly affects the degree of eye fatigue.
According to the "National Health Vision Report", many classrooms in China have poor lighting environments such as insufficient illumination of desktops and blackboards, which has led to more and more serious vision problems for young people. The Education Bureau, the National Health and Family Planning Commission, and the General Office of the State Sports General Administration jointly promulgated the "Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Prevention and Control of Myopia in Children and Adolescents" in 2018 to ensure that classroom lighting meets national standards.
The lighting effect of the classroom must be up to standard, only in this way can we provide students with a healthy learning environment for the eyes. To this end, schools must strictly follow the construction standards of ordinary primary and secondary schools and secondary vocational schools, implement lighting and lighting requirements for classrooms, dormitories, and libraries (reading rooms), and require classroom lighting hygiene standards to reach 100%.
For improving the lighting environment of the classroom, we also need to start from the following points:
1) Hygienic requirements for illuminance of classroom desktops and blackboards
Maintain the average illuminance not less than 300lx and the uniformity of illuminance not less than 0.7; maintain the average illuminance not less than 500lx and the uniformity of illuminance not less than 0.8 on the blackboard surface.
2) Hygienic requirements for design and installation of classroom lighting
It is advisable to use hanging grid lamps, and the lamp efficiency should not be less than 60%; the unified glare value (UGR) should not be greater than 19; the color temperature should be 3300K-5500K, and the color rendering index should not be less than 80.
3) It is advisable to use a boom installation method, and evenly arrange the classroom lighting power density according to the longitudinal direction of the classroom (the long axis of the lamp is perpendicular to the blackboard). The vertical distance (g) between the lamp and the desk is not less than 1700mm.
