LED high bay lights greatly improve traditional lighting options in many ways - including a range of problems with metal halide, high pressure sodium and fluorescent bulbs.

For years, warehouses, industrial, commercial, and recreational spaces, with ceiling heights ranging from 20 feet to 45 feet, have relied on high bay lights to provide adequate lighting (no less than 10,000 lumens). LED high bay lights greatly improve traditional lighting options in many ways - including a range of problems with metal halide, high pressure sodium and fluorescent bulbs.

1. Reduce operation and maintenance costs. The life of LED is more than 50,000 hours, which is 4 to 40 times that of traditional LED. Not only does this mean less time spent changing bulbs, but it also means less time (and money) spent actually replacing the bulbs. Replacing high bay light bulbs often requires more time and special equipment, such as scaffolding, flyovers, and hydraulic lifts, to reach the light fixture safely.

2. Excellent lighting performance. One of the biggest attractions of the ledZ is its excellent light quality. The quality of light is determined by measuring the Color Rendering Index (CRI), Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) and the foot candle of the light source. In every respect, LEDs are superior to traditional light sources. They faithfully reflect object color (CRI) while offering versatility in color "temperature" (CCT) and impressive light efficiency (foot candles). On top of that, the LEDs turn on almost instantaneously, while conventional lighting takes 30 minutes to reach full brightness.

3. Unparalleled energy efficiency. The energy-saving cost of LEDs is often the driving factor for companies to install high-bay LED luminaires. LED heating only loses 5% of its energy and requires far less power to generate the same (or better) lumens per square foot (foot candle). In addition to this, most traditional warehouse and factory light sources are omnidirectional, meaning they output light in all directions. Many traditional light sources point their light toward places that don't require direct lighting (such as ceilings). On the other hand, LEDs reduce light waste by distributing the light directly. These two factors combine to make LEDs one of the most energy-efficient lighting options.

When you start decorating your space with LED high bay lights, the first step is figuring out what type and how many LED high bay lights you need. To do this, you need to consider the size of the space you want to light, how high the ceiling is, and how you will use the space. Different uses require different lighting styles.

Storage Room - Generally speaking, storage rooms are only used to store goods. Enough to see what is what, about 300 lux, that's enough.

Warehouse - Needs adequate light to see the contents of the warehouse and keep employees safe. Warehouse lighting is generally not less than 500 lux.

Retail Stores - A bright environment allows customers to better see your products and makes the space feel clean (and safe). Aim for around 800 lux.

Stadiums - The lighting standards for stadiums are set by each sport's governing body (association, federation, etc.). Depending on the class of your sports venue, your lighting needs will vary. Lighting requirements can be as low as 75 lux and as high as 750 lux.
