Lithium polymer battery maintenance

Lithium polymer battery maintenance

The polymer lithium battery itself has a certain lifespan, which does not mean that the lifespan can be extended without use. Maintenance is only a corresponding standard in the process of use.

1. Charging standard

The charger of the polymer lithium battery must be able to charge with constant current and constant voltage;

The single battery when charging must be below 1C5A;

The charging temperature range is 0~45℃;

The charging voltage does not exceed 4.23V.

2. Discharge standard

The discharge current is less than 2C5A;

The discharge termination voltage of the single battery is not less than 2.75V

The discharge temperature range is -20℃~60℃;

3. Storage standard

Batteries are generally inflammable and explosive, and should be placed in a place that avoids high temperature and can be ventilated.

The long-term storage environment of the battery is: -20℃~35℃, and the relative humidity is 45%~75%.

If the storage period is nearly one year, the standard charging method should be used to recharge the battery to 10%~50%.

Polymer Lithium Battery Pack

The process of assembling polymer lithium cells into a group is called PACK, which can be a single battery, or multiple cells can be combined in series and parallel to form a lithium battery module.

Polymer lithium battery PACK includes battery pack, busbar, flexible connection, protection board, outer packaging, output (including connector), highland barley paper, plastic bracket and other auxiliary materials to form the PACK.

Lithium polymer battery swelling

1. Reasons for swelling of lithium polymer batteries

Poor packaging: During the production process, air moisture enters the interior of the cell, causing the electrolyte to decompose and generate gas.

Excessive water content in the battery cell: During the process, once the water content exceeds the standard, the electrolyte will fail to generate gas.

Corrosion: The polymer soft-packed lithium battery core corrodes, the aluminum layer is consumed by the reaction, loses its barrier effect on water, and flatulence occurs.

Surface damage: Damaged by external force, puncture causes moisture to enter the inside of the cell. Lithium metal reacts violently with oxygen when exposed to air.

Bump: The aluminum material is easy to deform, and it will be easily knocked. The larger the battery cell and the larger the air pocket, the easier it is to be damaged.

Short circuit: The contact between the positive and negative electrodes leads to a short circuit, and the polymer lithium battery is inflated or even smoked.

Internal short circuit: Shrinkage, curling, breakage, and burr piercing of the isolation film of the polymer lithium battery will cause an internal open circuit, resulting in bulging.

Overcharge and overdischarge: The polymer soft pack battery is overcharged or overdischarged, and the protective plate is abnormal, and the battery cell will be seriously inflated.

2. Swollen battery repair and use

If the battery of the mobile phone has been charged, first find the gap of the battery with your finger, and poke a small hole with the needle to let the air in it escape.

You can repurchase a new polymer lithium battery pack to replace. During the charging process, overcharging should be avoided, which can not only protect the battery from damage, but also save energy and protect the environment.

Eight, polymer lithium battery treatment

Reasonable use of waste polymer lithium batteries to avoid environmental pollution.

Polymer lithium batteries are considered to be a relatively environmentally friendly energy storage method, but scrapped polymer lithium batteries will also pollute the environment if they are improperly recycled and disposed of.
