Talking about how to design the installation angle of solar street lamp battery panel

When installing solar street lights, many people do not know how to determine the angle of the solar panels and which direction is appropriate. When installing, the solar panels always face true south, and the angle is basically the same as the local latitude. The solar panel is generally placed on the top of the lamp holder, and all the connecting wires are routed through the tube and all go inside the lamp pole.

(1) Inclination

At noon, in order to make the sunlight irradiate the solar panels vertically, there must be an angle between the solar panels and the horizontal plane during installation. The angle between the solar panels and the horizontal plane is usually called the inclination angle, which is measured by measurement. When the total amount of solar radiation received on the slope reaches the maximum, it is called the optimal inclination angle. The following figure shows the relationship between the solar panel and the ground angle. According to the geometric principle, in order to make the sunlight irradiate the solar panel vertically, the inclination angle of the solar panel should be calculated as follows:

Inclination = 90°-Elevation angle (elevation angle)

Because the earth orbits at a certain inclination angle, the angle of the sun above the horizon at noon changes periodically every year. The above formula shows that the reasonable inclination angle of the solar panel should change with the change of the sun's altitude.

(2) Determine the inclination of the square array

In order to maximize the ability of solar panels to receive sunlight, the inclination angle of the panels should be equal to the latitude of the site. When the angle of inclination is equal to the latitude, the average sunlight intensity projected on the solar panel is the highest. In addition, in order to consider the periodic changes of the sun's altitude angle, the inclination angle of the solar panel must also track the change of the sun's altitude angle, which is not only technically difficult, but also very expensive. For the sake of beauty, some customers place the solar panels horizontally. In this case, the output power of the solar panels will be reduced by 15%-20%, and a decorative cover is added to the solar cells. The output power will be reduced by about 5%. This greatly reduces the efficiency of the battery panel and affects the use of the entire set of solar street lights. Here, we strongly recommend users not to use horizontal placement.
