The Technological Development Trend Of LED Bulbs

1. Thermally conductive plastic radiator + non-isolated drive has become the trend of market development:

There are three main materials for existing bulb radiators: aluminum, ceramics and thermally conductive plastics. And aluminum has two types of radiators: die-cast aluminum and extruded aluminum. Aluminum radiator is currently the main form of radiator used in the market.

The use of aluminum radiator must be matched with isolated drive power, and the insulation protection and safety distance must be carefully designed to meet safety requirements. Compared with non-isolated drive power, the efficiency of isolated drive power is 5%~10% lower, but the price is about 5 yuan more expensive, and the production process is relatively complicated. As a result, the cost of the whole lamp is high and the light efficiency is reduced. Therefore, more and more luminaire factories adopt ceramic and thermally conductive plastic radiator bulb solutions.

Compared with plastic radiators, ceramic radiators have disadvantages such as heavier weight, large differences in thermal conductivity between batches, and fragility. Therefore, thermally conductive plastic radiators will be the main trend in the development of the bulb lamp market.

2. Low-power LED will dominate the bulb lamp market application

Low-power LEDs have an advantage over high-power LEDs in price. Multiple LEDs form a surface light source, which can avoid glare. Therefore, the use of multiple low-power LEDs as the light source will still be the mainstream direction of the LED bulb lamp market design.

3. COB (Chip on Board) package is applied to bulb lamp, which simplifies design and production

The use of COB technology can simplify the design and improve the consistency and reliability of the product. The use of dedicated COB LED connectors can improve production efficiency. Since no additional metal substrate is required, the cost of the entire lamp is reduced.
