Analyze the problem

Analysis of possible causes
LED low-voltage spotlights refer to lights in which the driver is installed in M16 and M11 light cups and directly connected to the electronic transformer of halogen lights. Because the electronic transformer is designed for halogen lights, it is not suitable for use as the power supply of LED drivers. When three LEDs are connected in series and then connected to the halogen light transformer, there are two problems of not lighting up and low frequency flashing. The rated voltage of the low-voltage halogen light is 12V. In order to prolong the service life of the halogen light, the output voltage of the electronic transformer is intentionally designed to be slightly lower than the rated voltage of the halogen light, generally 11.3-11.5V. The conventional low-voltage LED driver is a Buck structure, which requires at least a 0.3V voltage difference during normal operation, that is, VBuck=0.3V. If the forward voltage of the PN junction of the LED is 3.4V, the sum of the forward voltages of the three LEDs is VF=10.2V. The voltage drop of the Schottky full bridge is about 1V, that is, VD=1V. When the input voltage VIN－(VD + VF) < VBuck, the driver will not work normally, and the LED will not light up. As shown in Figure 1, the three LEDs are connected to the electronic transformer with an output voltage of 11.3V through the Buck driver. The output voltage of the driver is only 10V, which is less than the on-voltage of the three LEDs connected in series, so the LEDs do not light up.
How to choose spotlights
Spotlights are divided into two types: low-voltage and high-voltage. Customers prefer to choose low-voltage spotlights, which have a longer life and higher luminous efficiency. The luminous efficiency of spotlights is represented by the power factor. The larger the power factor, the better the luminous efficiency. The power factor of ordinary spotlights is about 0.5, which is cheap. The power factor of high-quality spotlights can reach 0.99, which is slightly more expensive. Spotlights are generally used to enhance the lighting of decorative objects. They are usually embedded in ceilings or walls.
