Why are incandescent lamps good for the eyes? Principle of Incandescent Lamp

Incandescent lamps are energized to heat the filament to incandescent state. Lighting needs to be bright. Many people may have heard that incandescent lamps are better for eyes. Compared with other lamps, why incandescent lamps are better for eyes? What is the lighting principle of incandescent lamps? Let’s take a look at BENWEI LIGHTING.

Why are incandescent lamps good for the eyes?

The light of the incandescent lamp itself is close to daylight, and there is no stroboscopic light of the fluorescent tube (fluorescent lamp), which is not easy to make the eyes tired, and is good for the eyes. However, because of the low efficiency of incandescent lamps, in order to save energy, people often match the power of the lamp with a small number (below 60W), which makes the effective lighting area small, and the illuminance is very low in places slightly far away from the lamp. , Can not meet the needs of people's normal work (for example, the illuminance on the working plane of precision assembly should reach more than 400LUX, so as not to damage the eyesight). And because the filament sublimates, the incandescent lamp decays very badly, so people find that the lamp is not bright enough after using it. At this time, the illuminance on the work surface will drop sharply. Long-term use will also damage the eyesight.

Among the three kinds of lamps, the incandescent lamp has better color rendering, with a color rendering index of more than 99. In contrast, it is better for the eyes, but the color temperature is too low, only 2850K, and the spirit is easily dispersed. Again, it takes energy. Energy-saving lamps, with a color rendering index above 80, have a variety of color temperatures. For reading, I recommend 4000K; high color temperature is good for concentration, but dazzling; low color temperature is not good for concentration. When reading a book, the light should be more than 1.5 meters away from the person, and the illumination should be 300 to 350 lux. The so-called energy-saving lamps are high-frequency, otherwise they are not energy-saving lamps.

There are many types of LED lights. The most common is the blue light chip plus yellow phosphor. There is too much blue light in this kind of light to read books. First-class LED lights (red, green, blue), the color rendering index is also above 80, choose about 4000K. However, it is expensive.

Principle of incandescent lamp light:

Incandescent lamp is a kind of heat radiation light source, energy conversion efficiency is very low, only 2% to 4% of electric energy is converted into light that can be felt by the eyes. However, incandescent lamps have the advantages of good color rendering, continuous spectrum, and convenient use, so they are still widely used. [2]

The filament temperature of a lit incandescent lamp is as high as 3000°C. It is because the hot filament produces light radiation that the electric lamp emits a bright light. Because some tungsten atoms will evaporate into gas at high temperatures, and deposit on the glass surface of the bulb, making the bulb black, so incandescent lamps are made into a "poobelly" appearance, this is to make the deposited tungsten atoms can be Diffuse on the larger surface.

Tungsten combines with the oxidation in the air to form a thin blue layer of a mixture of tungsten trioxide and tungsten oxide. The reason is that the oxygen in the air oxidizes the high temperature tungsten wire. Therefore, the tungsten bulb must be vacuumed to remove all the air.

Sometimes I am afraid that the air extractor will not be clean, but also apply a little red phosphorous to the sensor column of the bulb. Red phosphorus will become white phosphorus when heated, and white phosphorus can easily react with oxygen to form solid phosphorus pentoxide, and the residual oxygen in the glass bulb is also eliminated.

However, the bulb of an incandescent lamp will turn black after a long time, and it will burn out after a while, because the tungsten filament sublimates in a vacuum much faster than the carbon filament. When the temperature of the incandescent lamp is high, the sublimation of tungsten is still very serious. The long-term high temperature makes the tungsten atoms on the surface of the tungsten wire sublimate and diffuse, and then deposit layer after layer on the inner surface of the glass bulb, so that the glass bulb slowly blackens, and the evaporation of tungsten makes the tungsten wire thinner and thinner. Finally burned. The higher the filament working temperature, the faster the tungsten sublimation, and the shorter the life of the incandescent lamp.
