Do you know the meaning behind the "T" in the T8 T5 T4 tube model?
Do you always use fluorescent tubes? T8, T5, T4 lamps are commonly used now, and T10 and T12 are commonly used in the previous two years. So, what does this "T" mean?
What is the difference between T5 and T4?
"T" stands for "Tube", which means that this thing is tubular. The number at the back~ to put it bluntly, it actually represents the diameter of the tube. Each "T" is 1/8 inch.
Everyone knows that one inch is equal to 25.4 millimeters. Then the diameter of the T8 tube is 25.4mm.
The remaining numbers correspond to the following: T12 diameter 38.1 mm, T10 diameter 31.8 mm, T8 diameter 25.4 mm, T5 diameter 16 mm, T4 diameter 12.7 mm, T3.5 diameter 11.1 mm, T2 diameter 6.4 mm.
Specific to the difference between T5 and T4, let me summarize a few points first, and the predecessors will continue to add:
1. Diameters are different, 16mm VS 13mm.
2. The brightness is different. Theoretically, T4 should have high efficiency. However, due to the quality of the ballast, many T4s are not as bright as T5.
3. Life and stability are different. T4 is not as mature as T5, so the current life is slightly shorter than T5.
