How long will your batteries power my lights?

Since 1800, batteries have made portable LED lights possible.

Battery packs are available from BENWEI to power our LED products and strip lights. They are really easy to use; after charging and plugging them in, your lights come on. Choosing the right battery and calculating how long it will keep your lights on are a little trickier.

We're going to determine it today.Each of our strips uses a specific amount of Watts, or electricity, which is obtained from a power source, in this case a battery. Batteries' capacity is expressed in mAh (milliamp hours) or Ah. (amp hours). One thousandth of an Ah is equal to one mAh. We sell batteries that are either 3500 mAh (3.5 Ah), 6500 mAh (6.5 Ah), or 20000 mAh in capacity. (20 Ah). However, how do they connect to Watts?

Let's start a math lesson.

That is also fairly easy to do. The equation for electrical power reads Watts = Amps x Volts. 12 volts power all of our lights. As a result, we can see from the calculation that one amp is equal to 12 watts of power. Our three batteries actually have a combined capacity of 42, 78, and 240 watt hours (12 x 3.5, 6.5, and 20 correspondingly). Your entire battery capacity over time may be calculated very easily from here.

Divide the battery capacity by the total Wattage of your strip, in this case, the 32 Watts for the Standard 10 strips. The 3800 mAh battery can run this strip for 1.3125 hours (42/32), the 6000 mAh battery for 2.4375 hours (78/32), and the 20000 mAh battery for 6.25 hours (240/32), according to these figures.

It is a science!

While such timings are adequate for the majority of applications, if you conduct the calculations and need extra run time, there is only one solution: increase the capacity. A variety of 12V batteries are available, however they are often big. A typical automobile battery, for instance, has a capacity of around 60 Ah (720 Watt Hour), which is more than most people will ever want.
